Seasonal Show Ideas

I am planning a “Stress Free Holiday Shopping” event at my home this season. The show will include festive food, FREE gift wrapping, a NO sales tax incentive and crowd-free shopping to help my customers during this stressful time. I have offered these incentives before and my customers loved it!

For this busy holiday season, I have planned several shows with my hostesses called “Cookies and Cookie Lee”. We are combining a fun cookie swap with the jewelry show. The hostess doesn’t have to worry about food because everyone will be exchanging cookies while they buy Cookie Lee for Christmas presents and themselves. My hostesses are excited about getting their friends together for this fun event!

I go to assisted living homes and take my jewelry since many residents can’t go out shopping. I also take gift bags, tissue paper and Organza Bags (Item #N0479, $7.50) to wrap the jewelry and write the name of the recipient on each gift. This allows customers to select a gift and get it ready to give to their special person. I also give a percentage of my sales to that assisted living home’s activities department!

Besides selling Cookie Lee jewelry, I am a school nurse. I am blessed to have a boss who is very supportive of my Cookie Lee business. Before Christmas, I set up a table in my office and many of the teachers and students shop for their moms, grandmas, sisters, daughters and friends. I have lots of Cookie’s Outlet jewelry for those kids who only have $2 or $3 to spend. The kids are thrilled to shop on their own and go home with beautifully wrapped gifts, for no extra charge.

This season, I’m taking part in a fall flea market. I will be providing FREE holiday gift wrap as well as a FREE gift from Cookie’s Outlet for anyone who spends over a certain amount. I am also offering a discount on anything from the Spring/Summer 2009 Catalog as well as a chance for my customers to “Pick-n-Save”. “Pick-n-Save” is where I present a bowl full of folded Cookie Lee coupons; customers draw one and save—it’s fun!

I am holding a “Pre-Holiday Sale” at my home, the weekend before Thanksgiving. I will be mailing out an invite to all my hostesses and customers, using the addresses on my Business Builder Tear Sheets. On their invitation, I entice my contacts to bring a guest and receive one item at half off. On the back of the invite I have included the Gift List (to download go to, www.cookielee.com—Business Tools—Business Resources), so everyone can receive Cookie Lee this year! Customers will also be able to select an ornament at check-out with a surprise discount or incentive inside.
SUSAN KONOPACKI, Unit Manager I, Monroe, Wisconsin

I take all the Wish Lists that I have gathered over the years and invite the significant others (husbands, boyfriends, etc.) to a holiday buying party. This way they are not only guaranteed to get their gals something they like, but it makes it easy. They tell me how much they want to spend and I put a set together from the Wish List. The man is rewarded with a big smile from their wife or girlfriend and the women appreciate not having to go stand in a return line.
DEBORAH GREEN-PHALEN, Consultant, Martinez, California

My idea for the busy selling season is to hold a “Black Friday Boutique”. On Friday, November 27, I am going to hold a boutique show at the clubhouse in my neighborhood. I have invited a few other vendors to come and sell their products. We will be having super sales, just like the department stores. I will be advertising these deals by putting up flyers and sending out emails. Lots of people will be getting up very early the day after Thanksgiving to shop. So why not invite them to come early to a boutique where they can have a personal shopping experience and purchase everything on their holiday list?
ALLYSON REAMS, Director, Chino, California

Each holiday season, I welcome my customer base into my home for shopping. I put together a festive holiday announcement inviting everyone to shop from 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Friday nights, each week during the holiday season. I group together gifts of $25, $50, $75 and up, so customers can save time if they are in a hurry. I also offer FREE shipping and FREE gift wrap.
MARYANN RAINONE, Unit Manager II, Bay Shore, New York

I have a lot of craft and holiday expos scheduled this holiday season. To increase bookings at these types of events, my Upline suggested that I let potential hostesses pick out one Cookie’s Outlet item for FREE if they book a date on my calendar right then!
